The Indiana Crime Guns Task Force (ICGTF) assisted the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) in arresting shooting suspect Jefferey Cleveland, 54, for a person shot investigation that took place last week. Cleveland faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, and battery with a deadly weapon. The incident occurred on Thursday when IMPD officers responded to a person shot report and found an adult female with gunshot wounds. Video footage helped identify Cleveland as the suspect, leading to his arrest on Tuesday. ICGTF officers located Cleveland standing next to his vehicle and found a loaded firearm underneath it. Evidence from the Jan. 30 shooting was also discovered. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will decide on final charges. This successful collaboration between law enforcement agencies highlights the ongoing efforts to ensure public safety and bring perpetrators of violent crimes to justice.
