Defense attorney in prison alleges connection to Delphi Murders – Indianapolis News, Indiana Weather, and Indiana Traffic

An Indiana prisoner at the New Castle Correctional Facility claims that two men confessed to him their involvement in the Delphi Murders, for which Richard Allen was convicted in November. Ricci Davis told one of Allen’s attorneys that Ron Logan and Kegan Kline confessed to their roles in the murders. Davis wrote letters to the prosecution before the trial detailing these confessions, prompting the defense to file a motion to preserve evidence of these letters. The prosecution, however, refuted Davis’s claims, stating he failed a lie detector test and provided incorrect information. Experts from the Murder Sheet podcast find the claims to be unbelievable and are skeptical of their credibility. The defense attorney, Andrew Baldwin, is pushing for information on the existence of these letters and potential new evidence, which could lead to a new trial for Allen. Allen was sentenced in December to 130 years for the deaths of Abigail Williams and Liberty German, whose bodies were found near the Monon High Bridge in Delphi in 2017. The ongoing legal battle raises questions about the validity of the confession and the possibility of reopening the case.
