A shooting at a Texas Roadhouse on the south side of Indianapolis left one person dead on Friday night. The incident occurred at 4335 E. Southport Crossing Drive, where Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to reports of a person shot just before 9 p.m. An adult male victim was found with a gunshot injury and was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries. An off-duty IMPD officer was present at the restaurant during a fight that escalated to the parking lot, where the shooting took place. The officer identified herself as a police officer and held the suspect at gunpoint until on-duty officers arrived. The incident was part of a violent two-hour period in Indianapolis, with other shootings occurring on the east side and northwest side of the city. IMPD is asking anyone with information to contact them or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers. The investigation into the Texas Roadhouse shooting and the other incidents is ongoing.
