The Purdue women’s basketball team closed out their 2024-25 season with a 77-57 loss to Indiana at Mackey Arena. Lana McCarthy led Purdue offensively with 15 points, while Sophie Swanson contributed 11 points with three 3-pointers. Rashunda Jones also had a solid performance with nine points, five rebounds, and four assists. Despite committing a season-low 10 turnovers, Purdue struggled with shooting, making only 36.5% from the field. Indiana, on the other hand, shot 52.8% from the floor. Indiana used an early run in the first quarter to establish a lead, ultimately outscoring Purdue by five to secure the win. Purdue’s bench outscored Indiana’s bench 28-13, and the Senior Day crowd had a season-high attendance of 10,512 fans.
This game marked the end of the season for Purdue, finishing with a 10-19 overall record and 3-15 in the Big Ten. The team honored Jayla Smith, Destini Lombard, Mahri Petree, Ella Collier, and Reagan Bass in a postgame ceremony. Collier reached a career milestone with over 500 defensive rebounds, while McCarthy finished in double figures for the eighth time in the season. Jones also recorded a career-high five steals. Purdue still leads the all-time series against Indiana 55-44.
