A woman in Indiana survived nearly a week trapped in her car after a crash by drinking water from a small creek before being rescued by a man operating drainage equipment. Brieonna Cassell, 41, was found conscious and able to speak inside her car near Brook, Indiana. She had been reported missing by her family, having been trapped since Thursday night when she fell asleep at the wheel and veered off the road into a ditch. Cassell had sustained injuries to her legs and wrist but was able to survive by using water from the creek. She was flown to a Chicago hospital where she was in stable condition and scheduled for surgery. Her mother shared that Cassell’s outlook for recovery was positive but it would be a long road. Authorities commended the efforts of the man who discovered Cassell and his quick action that led to her rescue. The community rallied around Cassell, sending well wishes for her recovery.
