Indiana State swimmers Ali Pearson and Claire Parsons shined on the first day of the 2025 CSCAA National Invitational Championships, breaking school records and securing spots in the A-Finals in their respective events. Pearson set the Indiana State record in the 50-yard Breaststroke twice, while Parsons became the first Sycamore to qualify for an A-Final in the program’s history.
The team of Chloe Farro, Kaleigh Kelley, Raine Boles, and Alexa Szadorski also impressed by finishing fourth in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay, marking the program’s best overall finish in an event at the CSCAA championships. Parsons and Pearson continued their strong performance in the evening finals, finishing eighth in their respective events.
In the morning prelims, Pearson set the school record in the 50-yard Breaststroke and finished sixth overall, while Parsons finished eighth in the 500-yard Freestyle. Sahara Visscher, Erin Cummins, Maria Saldana Riebeling, and others also represented the Sycamores in various events.
Overall, Indiana State had a successful first day in the pool, setting multiple records and achieving top finishes. The team will compete in additional events in the coming days at the CSCAA NIC. Fans can follow the Sycamores’ progress on social media and through the March On App.
