INDIANAPOLIS – Latea Hentz, a mom, is facing four felonies after a fight on a Warren Township Schools bus on March 6. Hentz is charged with criminal confinement, battery, intimidation, and criminal trespass. The incident occurred when Hentz boarded the bus to confront a student she believed was bullying her son. A video of the altercation was posted on social media, showing punches being thrown and someone yelling “beat his [expletive].” Hentz was joined by her 17-year-old daughter and son during the attack, which left a student with a broken nose and injured eye. Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears stated that more charges for individuals involved in the fight will be filed. The altercation stemmed from a previous incident on the bus where racist jokes were allegedly made towards the student with the broken nose. Warren Township Schools released a statement condemning the incident and stating that the safety and security of their students is a top priority. Adults are meant to help resolve disputes and resorting to violence only makes things worse, according to Mears.
