Former U.S. attorney for the eastern district of Virginia, Jessica Aber, was found dead in Alexandria at the age of 43. Police responded to a report of an unresponsive woman and found Aber deceased. Aber resigned from her position as U.S. attorney on the same day that President Donald Trump was inaugurated. She was appointed by President Joe Biden in August 2021 and had been with the department since 2009, previously serving as deputy chief of the criminal division.
