TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Purdue Fort Wayne women’s track and field team had a strong showing at Indiana State’s Pacesetter Sports Invitational on Saturday, with several athletes setting personal records and making their mark in the Horizon League standings. Senior Louiza Kruiswijk broke the long jump school record with a jump of 5.97 meters, while freshman Kaylee Rogaczewski set a personal record with a jump of 5.65 meters. Marissa Van De Weg dominated the 400 meter hurdles with a personal-record time of 1:01.59, placing first in the league.
The Mastodon 4×100 meter relay team also shined, setting the Horizon League’s quickest time of 46.77. Several other athletes, including Ella Jenkins, Jordan Yanders, and Harmony Johnson, set personal records and ranked among the top five in the league in their respective events.
The team is now gearing up for the Michigan State Spartan Invite and High Point VertKlasse Meeting on Friday, where they will look to continue their success. With strong performances and impressive rankings, the Purdue Fort Wayne women’s track and field team is making a name for themselves in the Horizon League.
