One teenager dead, another critical following shooting in northeast side of the city


INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A tragic shooting incident on Sunday evening has left one teenager dead and another in critical condition on the northeast side of Indianapolis. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a call about a shooting at an Exxon Mobil Silver Express Foodmart convenience store and gas station on East 42nd Street around 7:10 p.m.

Upon arrival, officers found two teenage males with gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to area hospitals in critical condition. Unfortunately, one of the teenagers was pronounced dead at the hospital at 8:11 p.m. The other teenager remains in critical condition.

As of now, investigators have not released any additional information about the incident. The community is left mourning the loss of one young life and praying for the recovery of the other teenager involved.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is urging anyone with information about the shooting to come forward and assist in their investigation. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the ongoing issue of gun violence and its impact on the youth in our city.
