Wednesday in central Indiana is looking more dangerous with severe weather threat on the rise.

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis is currently surveying storm damage from Sunday, with another threat of severe weather set to impact Indiana on Wednesday. Cooler temperatures are expected on Monday with highs in the low to mid 40s, lingering moisture, and a few stray rain showers possible. Tuesday will see a very chilly start with highs in the mid 50s for the Indians home opener.

On Wednesday, a warm front will lift through in the morning bringing rain and warm air advection, ultimately pushing temperatures back into the 70s. A cold front associated with this warm front will bring a severe weather threat in the evening, with the potential for damaging winds, tornadoes, and large hail. The exact timing of the frontal boundary and the amount of rainfall received will impact the severity of the storms.

The severe weather threat will end early Thursday morning, but the boundary may stall out around the Ohio River Valley, bringing scattered rain to the southern tier of the state. The weekend will see a cooler trend, with highs in the 50s and the possibility of falling into the 40s early next week. Stay tuned for updates as the situation evolves.
