The Indiana State Sycamores secured an 8-2 victory over Butler in a strong performance highlighted by an 11-hit offensive surge and excellent pitching from Lauren Sackett and Hailey Griffin. The Sycamores got off to an early lead in the 1st inning, scoring two runs, but Butler responded with two runs of their own. Indiana State regained the lead in the 2nd inning with three runs and added three more insurance runs in the 6th inning. Morgan Goodrich, Sophie Esposito, and Kenzie Cornwell led the offensive charge with multi-hit performances.
On the pitching front, Sackett pitched 4 solid innings, allowing just 2 hits and 2 runs while striking out 4, earning her second win of the season. Griffin closed out the game with 3 shutout innings, striking out 5 without allowing any hits. Overall, the Sycamores only allowed 2 hits, 2 runs, and struck out 9.
