Former Martinsville Schools substitute math teacher Brittany Fortinberry, 31, is facing a slew of charges for alleged rape, sexual exploitation, and providing drugs and alcohol to minors. Last month, Fortinberry was charged with offenses including sexual misconduct with a minor, dissemination of harmful material to minors, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor involving three students, one of whom was 15 at the time. Five more victims, including a 13-year-old, have come forward with accusations of sex crimes against Fortinberry. Court documents reveal that she faces 10 counts of child molestation, eight counts of dissemination of harmful material to minors, five counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and one count of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Allegations have surfaced that Fortinberry asked underage boys to engage in sexual activities with her while wearing a Scream mask. She is accused of grooming at least 10 boys, some as young as 13, through gifts, manipulation, and disturbing sexual advances. Her husband, Nicholas Fortinberry, is also facing charges for allegedly knowing about the abuse and threatening the victims to remain silent.
The victims claim that Fortinberry created an environment of manipulation and coercion, including plying them with drugs and manipulating them using gifts. She allegedly engaged in sexual activities with minors, threatened suicide if they spoke out, and sexually assaulted them. The police found disturbing items such as a stripper pole and sex toys in her home, supporting the victims’ claims.
Fortinberry’s horrifying actions have shocked the community, with multiple victims coming forward to seek justice for the alleged abuses they endured at the hands of this former educator.
