Former Indiana Math Teacher Faces Multiple Charges in Alleged Sex Abuse Case
Brittany Fortinberry, a former math teacher at Eminence High School in Martinsville, Indiana, is facing a slew of charges after multiple boys came forward alleging they were forced into group sex with her. The 31-year-old teacher is facing additional charges after prosecutors say five more alleged victims have come forward.
Among the charges Fortinberry is facing are child molestation, dissemination of harmful materials to minors, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and sexual misconduct with a minor. She had previously been charged with sexual misconduct with a minor, dissemination of harmful material to a minor, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Court documents reveal disturbing details of the allegations, including claims that Fortinberry drugged minors with drugs and alcohol, purchased vapes and marijuana for them, and forced them to watch her engage in intercourse if they refused to participate.
An investigation into Fortinberry was launched in August 2024 after students reported inappropriate videos from the teacher. More incidents were reported, leading to her resignation from the Metropolitan School District of Martinsville.
Fortinberry is scheduled for a jury trial in June 2025. She reportedly did not express remorse for her actions during interviews with investigators, instead stating she regretted losing weight and that it may have contributed to the situation. The case has shocked the community and highlighted the importance of protecting children from abuse and exploitation.
