Fatal SUV Collision near Logansport Claims Life of 47-Year-Old Woman – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana Traffic


A tragic two-SUV crash in eastern Cass County resulted in the death of a 47-year-old Logansport woman, Carrie March. The incident took place at the intersection of U.S. 24 and County Road 600 East on Tuesday afternoon. March was airlifted to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, where she succumbed to her injuries. Investigators determined that the crash occurred when March’s Ford Escape failed to yield to a Nissan Rogue driven by Julia McElheny, 39, of Logansport. McElheny and a 3-year-old passenger were injured but their injuries were not life-threatening. Impaired driving was ruled out as a factor in the collision. The town of Logansport, where the victim resided, is located about a 90-minute drive north of downtown Indianapolis. The community is mourning the loss of March and hoping for a speedy recovery for those injured. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine if any further actions need to be taken.
