A 15-year-old suspect was arrested by Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers just thirty minutes after a shooting incident near the Indianapolis Public Library Martindale-Brightwood branch. The victim, who was shot at least once, was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The suspect, who had two handguns on him during the arrest, fired multiple shots at the victim who was inside a vehicle. The suspect and victim did not know each other. The 15-year-old was arrested for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, dangerous possession of a firearm by a minor, and aggravated battery. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will decide on the final charges. Surveillance video helped police find and capture the suspect a few blocks away from the scene of the shooting. The quick response of the IMPD led to the arrest and charges against the suspect, bringing a sense of justice to the incident.
