Motorcyclist Fatally Injured in Indianapolis Crash
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A tragic accident on Indianapolis’ northwest side claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m. at the intersection of West 64th Street and Michigan Road.
According to online police reports, the motorcyclist, an adult male, was traveling northbound on Michigan Road when an SUV collided with him after pulling out from 64th Street. The impact caused both the motorcycle and the SUV to ignite.
Emergency responders, including Indianapolis firefighters, arrived at the scene to assist. Tragically, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the SUV was transported to a hospital in stable condition.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) reported that a fatal crash team is initiating an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Officer Drew Brown noted that there is no current indication of drug or alcohol involvement in the crash.
