Greenwood Man Charged After Attacking Woman at Business
Franklin, Ind. (WISH) — A Greenwood man faces multiple charges following a disturbing series of events on May 21. Kashul Patel, 36, is charged with criminal confinement, battery, and intimidation after allegedly attacking two women at separate locations.
The Greenwood Police responded to an emergency call at an apartment complex, where a female office worker reported an encounter with Patel. She claimed he entered her office, made a vulgar proposition, and approached her menacingly. Fearing for her safety, she screamed for help, prompting him to flee. The victim provided police with video footage of the incident and a description of Patel’s vehicle.
Less than an hour later, officers received another 911 call about a woman being assaulted as she opened a store for business. This victim reported that Patel had followed her inside, tackled her, and attempted to overpower her. Fortunately, she managed to escape to a locked room and call for help. Police located Patel in the store’s parking lot shortly after.
After interviewing both women and reviewing surveillance footage, law enforcement confirmed Patel as the suspect from both incidents. He was arrested and the case has been forwarded to the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office for prosecution.
These incidents highlight the urgent need for increased safety measures in public spaces, urging community members to remain vigilant and report suspicious behavior.
