Pacers Seek to Re-Sign Myles Turner as Luxury Tax Looms

Oklahoma City, OK – In a move signaling commitment to their core, the Indiana Pacers are reportedly working to re-sign center Myles Turner, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania. Turner, who has spent his entire 10-season career with the Pacers, is entering the final year of a two-year extension valued at over $40 million.

This potential deal would mark the Pacers’ first foray into the luxury tax in two decades, highlighting the franchise’s willingness to invest in its roster amid competitive pressures. Turner has long been a pivotal member of the team, starting every game since the 2017-18 season and averaging 15.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks per game during the recent season. He boasts impressive shooting percentages, hitting 48.1% from the field and 39.6% from three-point range.

As the Pacers push through the postseason, where they’ve reached the NBA Finals, Turner has averaged 15.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game. Selected 11th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, his contributions have been fundamental to the franchise’s identity, making his re-signing a priority for the Pacers as they look to solidify their future.
