Indianapolis Weather Update: Canadian Wildfire Smoke and Warm Temperatures Ahead

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Central Indiana is bracing for a shift to drier weather midweek, despite lingering Canadian wildfire smoke affecting visibility.

Today’s forecast promises mostly sunny skies but expects occasional haze due to elevated smoke levels. High temperatures will reach the upper 70s, providing a pleasant day for outdoor activities.

Tonight will bring partly cloudy skies with a quiet ambiance as temperatures drop to the upper 50s and winds remain calm.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, residents can anticipate another sunny and dry day, though haze from the wildfire smoke may persist. Afternoon highs are expected in the low to mid-80s, making it warm enough for attendees heading to Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The week continues with a warm front arriving Thursday, potentially pushing temperatures into the mid to upper 80s across the region. However, the weather pattern may change as a low-pressure system approaches, introducing the possibility of rain late Friday, with more substantial showers likely Friday night into Saturday.

Stay tuned for further updates as conditions evolve in central Indiana.
