Serial Robber Arrested After Indianapolis Bank Heists

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A man has been arrested in connection with multiple bank robberies in Indianapolis. Dewayne Moss faces preliminary charges of robbery and attempted robbery following incidents at a bank in the 4300 block of East 10th Street.

On Monday morning, IMPD received a call reporting a bank robbery at approximately 10 a.m. Within moments, officers were informed that the suspect had previously robbed the same bank two times. Moss was identified as a suspect in a robbery reported just last Friday and had also committed a robbery at this location on May 5.

As officers were responding, a second holdup alarm was triggered at a nearby business. Witnesses indicated that Moss was seen entering this establishment, prompting investigators to move to the scene. Upon arrival, they encountered Moss as he exited the building. It’s still unclear whether he attempted to rob this second location.

In a bid to evade capture, Moss fled on foot but was apprehended shortly thereafter. Police have stated that the Marion County prosecutor is reviewing the case for final charging decisions against Moss. His string of bank robberies has drawn significant attention and raised concerns about public safety in the area. Further updates from law enforcement are anticipated as the investigation continues.
