Indianapolis Forecast: Wet Weekend Ahead with Mild Temperatures

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Residents can expect a mild and muggy day as showers and thunderstorms develop this afternoon. Highs will approach 80 degrees, still within the range of typical summer weather for this time of year. Morning conditions will remain dry but rain is likely to increase, bringing the potential for moderate to heavy rainfall across parts of Indiana.

Tonight, if you’re attending the Pacers game or the Italian Street Festival in downtown Indianapolis, be prepared for isolated showers amidst mild temperatures in the upper ’60s.

Looking ahead to Saturday, mostly cloudy skies will prevail with a chance for spotty showers and possible rumbles of thunder. However, more dry time is anticipated compared to Friday, with highs again around 80 degrees.

Sunday brings good news for Father’s Day, as the forecast predicts high temperatures in the lower ’80s with mostly cloudy skies and isolated rain showers possible.

The extended seven-day forecast indicates more unsettled weather next week, though a complete washout is not expected. Monday’s temperatures will rise to the mid ’80s, with afternoon thunderstorms in the mix. By Tuesday and Wednesday, expect a return to hot and humid summer weather, with highs in the upper ’80s and scattered showers and storms likely in the afternoons.

Stay tuned for more updates as the weather develops.
