Israel and Iran Continue Clashes for Fifth Day as Trump Calls for Total Surrender from Tehran – Latest Updates

Trump Pushes for Comprehensive Resolution on Iranian Nuclear Issue

In a recent statement following his return from the G7 summit in Canada, President Donald Trump emphasized his desire for a definitive resolution to the Iranian nuclear crisis. He advocates for Iran to completely abandon its nuclear weapons ambitions. During his remarks shared on social media, Trump predicted that Israel would continue its military actions against Iran in the coming days and hinted at potential diplomatic missions, considering sending US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff or VP JD Vance to engage with Iran, dependent on future developments.

The urgency of the situation escalated as reports indicated over 600 individuals from 17 nations fled Iran into Azerbaijan amidst a rising Israeli air campaign targeting Iranian military sites. The Israeli military has struck multiple locations in western Iran, claiming to disable missile capabilities.

Alongside these developments, both the World Health Organization (WHO) and European leaders highlighted the critical humanitarian situation in Gaza, with hospitals nearing collapse amid severe shortages. In a separate but related context, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas reinforced that diplomatic routes must be prioritized to prevent nuclear escalation, stating, “Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb.”

These tensions follow a series of Israeli military operations aimed at crippling Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, particularly the enrichment facilities at Natanz. Despite Israeli claims of significant damage, US intelligence suggests Iran is not actively pursuing nuclear weaponry and remains years away from achieving a deployable nuclear capacity.

As regional conflicts intensify and international diplomatic efforts surge, the complex interplay of military action, humanitarian crises, and diplomatic dialogues continues to shape the landscape of Middle Eastern relations.
