Newfields to Unveil Immersive Exhibit Featuring Australian Art
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Newfields is excited to announce the launch of THE LUME Connection: Land, Water, Sky, an immersive art exhibit celebrating contemporary Australian perspectives. The grand opening is set for June 27, coinciding with the Summer Artful Party at the Indianapolis venue.
This groundbreaking exhibit showcases over 500 works from more than 100 Australian artists, spread across a sprawling 30,000 square feet. The installation delves into indigenous narratives, focusing on the spiritual connections between land, water, and sky.
Director of Communications Mattie Wethington shared her enthusiasm, stating, “This year, we’re featuring Connection: Land, Water, Sky, showcasing the extraordinary work of over 100 artists from Australia.” Adding to the experience, three original artworks by local students from Herron School of Art + Design will also be featured.
Each segment of digitally immersive artwork will last approximately three minutes, integrating audio and visual elements to further enhance visitors’ experiences. Local artist Jansing Lunato expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying, “It’s a surreal experience that I’m so grateful to have.”
The Summer Artful Party promises a full evening of celebration with access to the entire museum, food, drinks, and music. Wethington noted, “It’s a great party to celebrate the openings of these different exhibitions.”
