Indiana Fever Triumph Over Seattle Storm in Thrilling Matchup
SEATTLE (AP) — In an exhilarating contest on Tuesday night, the Indiana Fever edged out the Seattle Storm 94-86, powered by Aliyah Boston’s career-high 31 points and Kelsey Mitchell’s solid performance, including 26 points and five 3-pointers.
While Caitlin Clark struggled, scoring just six points and missing all six of her 3-point attempts, Boston and Mitchell took charge, particularly in a decisive third quarter where the Fever outscored the Storm 30-19. Mitchell contributed seven points during this stretch, while Boston added eight, solidifying Indiana’s lead.
Lexie Hull and Damiris Dantas also supported the Fever’s effort, contributing 15 and 10 points, respectively. Clark’s shooting woes have been concerning, as she has hit just one of her last 23 3-point shots.
Initially, Seattle controlled the game’s pace, taking an 18-12 lead thanks to Ezi Magbegor’s three-point play. However, Indiana regrouped, with Mitchell hitting a crucial three-pointer before halftime, allowing the Fever to enter the break with a 45-39 lead.
Despite the presence of Seattle legends such as Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe in the crowd, the Fever ensured a quiet exit for home fans with their impressive performance.
Looking ahead, the Fever will host the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday, while the Storm will face the Connecticut Sun on Friday.
