Pacers Draft Liberty’s Taelon Peter, Acquire Kam Jones in Trade
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — In a strategic move during the 2025 NBA Draft, the Indiana Pacers selected Liberty University guard Taelon Peter with the 54th overall pick. Peter, a standout player, completed his last season averaging 13.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game. His impressive shooting statistics include a remarkable 57.8% from the field, 45.3% from beyond the arc, and an outstanding 75.6% on two-point attempts, the highest in Conference USA.
Before joining Liberty, Peter honed his skills over three seasons at Arkansas Tech (Division II) and one season at Tennessee Tech, showcasing a strong foundation and adaptability throughout his college career.
In addition to Peter, the Pacers are also in the process of acquiring Kam Jones, selected at 38th overall in a proposed trade with the San Antonio Spurs. Although the trade has yet to be officially finalized by the NBA, it is reported that the Pacers have sent a future second-round pick and cash considerations to secure this selection.
This dual acquisition demonstrates the Pacers’ commitment to enhancing their roster and building for the future, as they aim to compete more effectively in the upcoming season. Fans will be eager to see how these new additions integrate into the team’s strategy moving forward.
