Lori Vallow Daybell, known as the “Doomsday mom,” is set for sentencing in Arizona on two murder conspiracy convictions. She is already serving life sentences in Idaho for the murders of her two youngest children and her romantic rival. In April, she was found guilty of conspiring to murder her fourth husband, Charles Vallow, who died in July 2019. Vallow Daybell claimed during the trial that her brother, Alex Cox, shot Charles in self-defense during a family dispute. He died later that year from a pulmonary embolism and was not charged.
In June, she was convicted of conspiring to kill her niece’s ex-husband, Brandon Boudreaux, who testified about a near-fatal shooting incident involving a Jeep linked to her family. Vallow Daybell, representing herself in both trials, denied any involvement in the shooting.
The legal saga surrounding Vallow Daybell is marked by bizarre themes of doomsday prophecies, zombies, and evil spirits. Her husband, Chad Daybell, is a doomsday author and, in 2023, Vallow Daybell was also convicted in Idaho for the murders of her children, Tylee Ryan and Joshua “JJ” Vallow, as well as conspiring to kill Chad’s first wife, Tammy Daybell. Chad Daybell received the death penalty for his role in the murders.
The couple gained national attention in 2019 after the disappearance of Tylee and JJ. Subsequent investigations revealed the disturbing details of the children’s remains—Joshua buried in a pet cemetery and Tylee dismembered and burned in a fire pit. The upcoming sentencing is anticipated to conclude a long and troubling legal journey.
