Sheridan Historical Society to Honor Legendary Coach Bud Wright at Open House

The Sheridan Historical Society is set to honor the incredible coaching career of retired Sheridan Blackhawk football coach Bud Wright with a special open house on Sunday, August 3, from 1 to 4 p.m. Coach Wright dedicated over 50 years to shaping young athletes, leading his teams to nine Indiana state football championships during his illustrious career.
Former players, colleagues, and community members are invited to join this heartfelt tribute at the Society’s Museum, located at 315 S. Main St. in uptown Sheridan. Many of Coach Wright’s former players have advanced to play at the collegiate and professional levels, highlighting the lasting impact he has had on the sport and his players.
The event promises to be a nostalgic gathering, offering light refreshments as attendees celebrate Coach Wright’s significant contributions to Indiana football. This is a unique opportunity for all those touched by Coach Wright’s coaching to come together and express their appreciation as he embarks on his well-deserved retirement.
