Indiana Sports Betting Revenue Surges Nearly 50% Year-On-Year
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Sports betting revenue in Indiana has experienced a remarkable surge, with June figures reflecting a 48.7% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Indiana Gaming Commission. The state’s taxable adjusted gross gaming revenue in June 2025 reached an impressive $45.3 million, climbing from $30.5 million in June 2024.
The handle, or total amount wagered, also saw substantial growth, rising nearly 20% from $298.2 million last year to $351.5 million this June. Correspondingly, tax revenues from sports betting soared as well, with proceeds jumping 47.8% from $2.9 million to $4.3 million.
While the figures are impressive on a year-on-year basis, month-on-month comparisons tell a different story. Indiana’s betting handle fell by 18.9% from May 2025’s high of $433.3 million. Nevertheless, revenue showed resilience, increasing by 3.6% from $43.8 million in May, and tax revenue paralleled this growth with a 3.6% rise from $4.2 million.
In the online betting segment, DraftKings led the market, generating revenue of $16.1 million in June, closely followed by FanDuel, which brought in $15.5 million.
This upward trend in sports betting revenue highlights the growing popularity and acceptance of legal betting in Indiana, further establishing the state as a significant player in the expanding U.S. sports betting landscape.
