Colts gear up with full pads for training camp: Indianapolis News covers weather and traffic updates in Indiana


The Indianapolis Colts put on full pads for the first time during training camp at Grand Park in Westfield, Indiana. Head coach Shane Steichen was pleased with the level of competition and intensity displayed by the players during the first practice with full pads. Defensive end Tyquan Lewis expressed his excitement about being able to hit people, while other players also enjoyed the opportunity to thud and compete at a higher level.

Both defensive and offensive linemen were happy to have the full pads back on, as it allowed them to engage in more physical and realistic gameplay. Offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter shared his excitement about being able to evaluate players more accurately now that the team is practicing with full pads.

The players and coaching staff alike are looking forward to the increased intensity and physicality that full pads bring to practice. The Colts are preparing for their first preseason game and are using the full pads practices to assess their strengths and areas for improvement.

The Colts will continue their training camp practices at Grand Park with full pads on Wednesday from 10-11:30 a.m. Fans can expect to see an even higher level of competition and intensity as the team gears up for the upcoming season.
