Local Indianapolis food drive, led by Rev. Richard Hunter and Martin University, celebrates its 30th anniversary by continuing to assist over 700 families in need through the Christmas Help Program. The initiative aims to provide families with essentials to help supplement their grocery bills and alleviate financial burden during the holiday season. Families and individuals can sign up by calling 317-347-1690 between Nov. 29 – Dec. 10, where they can specify their needs. Selected recipients will receive groceries on Dec. 13 between 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Martin University. The program serves as a lifeline for many Hoosiers struggling with food insecurity in Central Indiana. In addition, WISH-TV’s Focus on Food initiative supports this cause by encouraging community members to submit their own recipes to help combat food insecurity in the area. This collaborative effort highlights the importance of coming together as a community to support those in need, especially during the holiday season.Rev. Hunter emphasized the importance of community support in ensuring that families have access to essential resources during difficult times.
