West Chester University’s men’s basketball team secured an 88-80 victory over Indiana (Pa.) with standout performances from Joshua Walker and Dylan Blair, who both achieved double-doubles. Walker contributed 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Blair posted 19 points and 12 rebounds. Elijah Allen also scored 19 points, and Anthony Purnell Jr. added 11 off the bench to help secure the win.
The victory marks West Chester’s 4-0 start in league play, a feat not accomplished since the 2019-20 season. Despite only playing five crossover games due to a schedule change, the team remains undefeated in their conference. Blair led the team with six assists, while Purnell Jr. chipped in with four of his own. The win over Indiana (Pa.) marked their first victory against the team since 2017.
In other high school sports news, West Chester Henderson’s boys’ basketball team defeated Radnor with standout performances from Ryan Ranalli and Declan Manion. Radnor’s girls’ basketball team also secured a win against West Chester East, with Annalise Kubasko leading the way with 19 points.
On the swimming front, Avon Grove’s boys and girls team secured victories against Oxford, with athletes like Kyle Burk and Kaitlyn Burk delivering strong performances in various events. The community is proud of these athletes’ achievements and looks forward to continued success on the court and in the pool.
