A 25-year-old substitute teacher at Elkhart High School, Autumn Ringer, has been charged with child seduction after being accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a student earlier this year. The Elkhart Police learned about the relationship in March. The 16-year-old victim initially denied any sexual activity but later admitted to sneaking out one night with Ringer picking him up and taking him to her apartment, claiming nothing sexual occurred.
Ringer initially admitted to having sex with an 18-year-old student but incriminating evidence was found on her phone including nude photos and messages discussing sex with a student. She then confessed to having sex with a student she thought was 17 at the time. Ringer was hired by Elkhart Community Schools on Feb. 5 and was placed on leave on March 21.
Ringer was arrested on Monday and has since posted bond and been released. She faces charges of child seduction. The case is still under investigation.
