Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has revealed in a Netflix special titled “Jamie Foxx: What Had Happened Was” that he faced a medical emergency last year due to a brain bleed which led to a stroke. Foxx described how he had a bad headache and lost 20 days of memory before being hospitalized in Atlanta and told he would die without an operation. He underwent surgery and was warned that recovery would be difficult. Foxx’s family kept his condition private due to his dizzy spells and his daughter’s concerns about him becoming an internet meme. The actor was flown to Chicago for rehab and was advised to drop his “arrogant” act if he wanted a full recovery. Foxx had been hospitalized in April 2023 while filming a Netflix film, with only limited information initially shared about his condition. Foxx later addressed the speculation about his health in an Instagram video and shared updates on his recovery. In a recent TikTok video, he revealed that the medical emergency started with a headache and caused memory loss, emphasizing the gratitude he feels for finally starting to feel like himself again.
