The Indiana Fever are set to break ground on a new $78 million practice facility in downtown Indianapolis this summer. The Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center will be a state-of-the-art complex specifically designed for female athletes, including two regulation-size courts, a full-service kitchen, and various recovery and training amenities. The facility is expected to open before the 2027 WNBA season.
The Fever currently practice at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, but the new facility will provide a dedicated space for the team to train and prepare for games. The President of Fever, Kelly Krauskopf, highlighted the organization’s commitment to providing the highest level of resources for their players to succeed.
The announcement comes as the Fever prepare for their upcoming 2025 season, with their first game scheduled against the Chicago Sky on May 17. The Gainbridge Fieldhouse will also host the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game on July 19. The city of Indianapolis, particularly Mayor Joe Hogsett, has expressed excitement about the investment in women’s basketball and the positive impact it will have on the community.
