Indiana Hoosiers Maintain No. 5 Spot in College Football Playoff Rankings Ahead of Key Matchup with Ohio State
(WISH) — The Indiana Hoosiers, currently ranked No. 5 in the College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings, aim to solidify their position as they prepare to face off against No. 2 Ohio State this Saturday. The highly anticipated showdown is set for noon, with the Hoosiers looking to keep their perfect 10-0 record intact.
This week marks the third consecutive week Indiana has held its 5-seed position, achieving the highest ranking since the CFP was established. Despite enjoying a successful season, the Hoosiers’ relatively weak schedule—ranked 106th by ESPN—has raised some concerns about their playoff viability. A victory against Ohio State would not only stop a painful 28-game losing streak against the Buckeyes but also bolster Indiana’s playoff credentials.
The Hoosiers have steadily made a name for themselves, having appeared in the rankings eight times since 2020. They are set to conclude the regular season against Purdue on November 30 in a sold-out clash for the Old Oaken Bucket, although kickoff time has yet to be announced.
As the season progresses, projected first-round matchups have begun to circulate, with Indiana being paired against formidable opponents such as Alabama and Ole Miss, indicating a challenging path ahead. As the playoffs loom, the results of the Hoosiers’ upcoming games will prove crucial in determining their fate in the postseason landscape.
For now, all eyes will be on Indiana as they look to make history with a significant victory over Ohio State, key to their aspirations for a playoff berth.
