IMPD has made arrests in connection with the shooting of a detective’s unmarked police vehicle. Four suspects, Ryan Davis, Kaleb Richardson, K’Shaun James, and a juvenile, have been arrested for attempted murder and criminal recklessness. The shooting occurred on September 11, 2024, as the detective was conducting surveillance near Brookside Park. Fortunately, no officers were injured in the incident.
During the arrest, IMPD SWAT officers found four firearms inside the suspect’s vehicle. Additionally, during a search on Wednesday, three more individuals were arrested for various charges including possession of a machine gun conversion device, possession of cocaine, and dealing marijuana. The suspects arrested during the search were Montrell Austin, Dewaun Woods, and Alexandra Pirtle.
IMPD has not released the identity of the detective involved in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and more information may be revealed as the case progresses. The swift action taken by IMPD in arresting the suspects demonstrates their commitment to ensuring the safety of law enforcement officers and the community.
