Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership constructs its 100th affordable home – Local News, Weather, and Traffic in Indianapolis

The Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership, a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the affordable housing shortage, is set to celebrate the completion of its 100th affordable house. The new development is a 1,500 square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home located on the east side of Indianapolis. CEO Gina Miller emphasizes the hard work that clients put in to be able to afford a new home and achieve the dream of homeownership.

The organization has been working for over 30 years to provide resources and support for low to moderate-income families seeking homeownership. In the past seven years, they have started developing houses to help meet the growing demand for affordable housing in Indianapolis. Chief Strategy Officer Joe Hanson notes that their work has reshaped what affordable housing looks like in the city.

INHP works with families to provide education and one-on-one advising about homeownership and financing. Families must make 80% of the area median income to qualify for the houses built by the organization, with some programs serving households that make up to 120% of that figure.

The 100th home is already in the process of being purchased by one of INHP’s clients, showcasing the success of their “first-look” program. The organization’s next goal is to build 200 homes, with 38 houses already in the works. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new home will be held on Tuesday afternoon to celebrate this milestone achievement.
